REGISTRATION IS CLOSED BY YOU CAN STILL SPONSOR A WALKER OR YOUR FAVORITE TEAM.

Ohana is Hawaiian for Family!

The ACC Ohana Walk is intended for members of the community family. This all-age and community-wide event seeks to include young and old family members as well as all of our sister non-profit charitable organizations and churches serving the Sacramento Region whose members belong to and support each other.

This outdoor walkathon event will be held on September 17th at the Greenhaven-Pocket Canal Walkway followed by a picnic at the ACC campus. It will feature some friendly competition and include an Ohana T-shirt, lots of prizes, complimentary items and a picnic lunch at the ACC Campus for all registered walkers.

The entire walking route is 2.5 miles end-to-end, with six checkpoints spaced 1/2 mile apart. Walkers may choose where to start and end, keeping track of their total distance walked. Donors may sponsor a walker for a flat amount or in half-mile increments, measured in “checkpoints.” Registered walkers may join an existing team or create one of their own. The walking time limit is set for two hours.

Health and Safety Notice: All walkers and volunteers are required to observe COVID-19 safety practices including getting vaccinated and boosted if eligible. Maintaining reasonable and safe social distance in encouraged. Avoiding direct contact with others is recommended. Wearing of masks is optional but is encouraged. All Walkers should be in sufficiently good health to safely engage in the walk event. In the event of uncertainty, walkers should consult with their private physicians to ensure that they are physically fit to walk distances of up to one or more miles, in 90+ degree heat with whatever air quality index that may be present at the time of the Walk. If the physician suggests any limitation, such limitation should be observed by the individual Walkers without ACC’s oversight or enforcement. All Walkers will be provided with water and all walkers should drink sufficient water to stay adequately hydrated. Hats and other sun protection to avoid overheating are recommended.
