OThe hot ticket in town on December 14, 2022, was the ACC Holiday Party and Dance. No invitation required. More than 150 revved up partygoers converged on the ACC main campus for food, dancing, and holiday cheer. A brand new 30’x 40’ weatherproof tent was set up on the patio, turning ACC into an unrecognizable night venue for fun. It will be used for future Lifelong Learning and Wellness classes and events. The 4,096-light Mega Tree, a creation of Perfecto Bravo and Michael Yang, was “audacious and breathtaking,” according to one partygoer. “It says, Welcome Back to ACC!”
The music of DJ Jorge Shomar brought people to the dance floor with conga lines, the fox trot, and disco. There were even a few Texas two-step sightings. The ACC Showstopper’s music-themed Christmas tree won the tree decorating contest with its intricate hand-made ornaments and other clever flourishes.
The avalanche of desserts came non-stop thanks to those made them: Judi Keen, Esther Mar, Irene Fong, Joyce Iseri, Donna Yee, Sheri Morishita, Barbara Sasaki, and Jean Shiomoto. Suave Dental and the ACC Pickleball Club sponsored the hot food. Congratulations to the “Showstoppers” who took home the gold nutcracker award for 1st Place in the Tree Decorating Contest.
